Authenticity & Counterfeit Policy

How DU2BAO2 handles counterfeit listings, authentication badges, authenticity disputes and seller responsibility.

Last updated: 27 August 2026
Pre-launch legal draft: Complete the operator legal name, registration number, business address and support/privacy contacts before launch. These website terms should be reviewed against the final payment, payout, authentication and courier contracts before those services are activated.

Ringkasan Bahasa Malaysia

Barangan tiruan dilarang. Kelulusan penyenaraian bukan pengesahan ketulenan. “Verified Seller”, “DU2BAO2 Checked”, “Authenticated” dan “DU2BAO2 Protection” mempunyai maksud yang berbeza. Jika barang tiruan disahkan dalam urus niaga DU2BAO2 Protection yang layak, pembeli boleh dibayar balik dan penjual kekal bertanggungjawab terhadap jumlah yang dipulangkan.

1. Zero tolerance for counterfeit goods

Counterfeit, replica or fraudulently represented branded goods are prohibited regardless of labels such as replica, AAA, 1:1, OEM, factory overrun, mirror quality, inspired or similar wording.

2. Seller authenticity warranty

By listing a branded item, the seller represents that to the best of their knowledge the item is genuine, lawfully owned/authorised for sale, not stolen, and supported by truthful serial, receipt and authentication information. Sellers must disclose genuine uncertainty instead of representing an uncertain item as authentic.

3. Seller evidence and false documents

DU2BAO2 may request proof of purchase, serial/date code, detailed photographs, hallmarks, certificates or third-party reports. Fake receipts, altered certificates, copied serials, reports for another item or manipulated photographs are prohibited and may result in immediate enforcement.

4. Listing approval is not authentication

A listing being reviewed, approved, featured or allowed to remain live does not mean DU2BAO2 has authenticated it. Only an expressly defined authentication badge/status indicates that the applicable authentication process was completed.

5. Trust badges have separate meanings

Verified Seller means selected identity/business checks were completed. DU2BAO2 Checked means the item underwent the disclosed condition/function checks. Authenticated means the specific item passed the stated authentication process. DU2BAO2 Protection means the transaction uses the applicable protected checkout/refund process. One badge must not be used to imply all four things.

6. Authentication services

Authentication may be performed by qualified independent providers, specialists or appropriate technical methods. The methodology can vary by brand, category, value and available evidence. Third-party assessments are governed by the provider’s methodology and applicable terms.

7. Authentication outcomes

Possible statuses may include Authenticated, Not Authenticated, Unable to Verify or Further Review Required. Unable to Verify does not itself prove counterfeit, but DU2BAO2 may refuse to list the item as genuine where authenticity cannot reasonably be established.

8. Digital and physical authentication

DU2BAO2 may use photograph-based review or require physical inspection for selected high-value/high-risk items. Users must not submit another item’s photographs or conceal relevant characteristics. Physical inspection may be required before a badge, enhanced protection, shipment or dispute completion.

9. Category-specific checks

Luxury goods may involve materials, construction, hardware, stitching, typography, serial/date codes or chip information. Jewellery brand authentication is separate from laboratory testing of metal purity, gemstone type/treatment or grading. Camera/technology legitimacy checks may involve model/serial/IMEI, physical construction, firmware or manufacturer identifiers; functionality checks are separate from authenticity.

10. Serial-number recording

DU2BAO2 may record unique identifiers to prevent fraud and return swapping. Sensitive identifiers need not be displayed publicly.

11. Buyer counterfeit claims

A buyer must have a reasonable basis for a counterfeit claim. DU2BAO2 may request photographs, serials, receipts, reports or physical examination. An unsupported statement such as “I think it is fake” does not automatically establish counterfeit status.

12. Enhanced authenticity protection

DU2BAO2 may later offer an enhanced authenticated-goods programme with up to 7 calendar days after tracked delivery for authenticity-only disputes, where clearly displayed before purchase. Ordinary condition/function claims may remain subject to the standard Protection Window.

13. Conflicting authentication results

Where reputable providers disagree, DU2BAO2 may consider methodology, physical examination, evidence quality, brand expertise, identifiers and chronology, and may seek a second assessment. Not every report must be given equal evidential weight.

14. Confirmed counterfeit

DU2BAO2 may remove the listing, cancel eligible transactions, suspend eligible payouts, refund a protected buyer, restrict/terminate the seller, review related listings/accounts, preserve evidence and cooperate with payment providers, rights holders or authorities. The seller remains financially responsible for amounts properly refunded because of the counterfeit item.

15. Handling suspected counterfeit returns

A protected buyer should not automatically return, destroy or dispose of a suspected counterfeit item. DU2BAO2 may require authentication, delivery to an authenticator or another legally appropriate process. The item may be needed as evidence.

16. False claims and return swapping

Fabricated reports, substituted counterfeit goods, edited evidence, false allegations, item swapping and part swapping are prohibited and may result in claim rejection, termination and referral where appropriate.

17. Rights-holder complaints

Trademark owners or authorised representatives may report allegedly infringing listings and may be asked to establish identity, authority, the relevant rights and basis of the complaint. DU2BAO2 may remove or restrict content while reviewing a sufficiently supported complaint.

18. Authentication limitations

An Authenticated badge means only that the item passed the stated authentication process. Unless expressly included, it does not guarantee condition, remaining lifespan, functionality, manufacturer warranty, resale value or absence of every possible hidden defect. Nothing limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
